Hemi Metals, located in Hamilton, New Zealand, is a trusted name in the manufacturing and supply of Aluminium 3003 Forgings. These forgings are celebrated for their outstanding corrosion resistance, impressive workability, and reliable performance across various engineering and industrial applications. Utilizing cutting-edge forging techniques, Hemi Metals guarantees that each 3003 forging boasts a superior grain structure, consistent mechanical properties, and precise dimensional accuracy. Aluminium 3003, an alloy enriched with manganese, is well-known for its strength compared to pure aluminium and its remarkable resistance to both chemical and atmospheric conditions. Customers turn to Hemi Metals for durable and cost-effective Aluminium 3003 forgings that meet a broad spectrum of fabrication and structural requirements.
Aluminium 3003 Forgings are composed of 1.0–1.5% manganese, along with trace amounts of copper, iron, silicon, and other elements. This blend not only boosts strength but also maintains excellent corrosion resistance and ductility. In terms of mechanical properties, 3003 provides good tensile strength, high workability, and reliable fatigue resistance. While it can’t be heat-treated, it does gain strength through cold working. The alloy performs consistently well during forming, bending, and welding, making it a great choice for moderate-strength applications that require solid chemical resistance and structural integrity.

Aluminum 3003 offers excellent corrosion resistance, good formability, lightweight, and high strength-to-weight ratio, making it ideal for custom forgings in industries like aerospace, automotive, and construction.
Aluminum 3003 is not ideal for high-temperature forging applications due to its low strength at elevated temperatures. It is more suitable for applications requiring good formability at moderate temperatures.
Aluminum 3003 has good workability, making it easy to forge. Its excellent formability allows for smooth shaping, but it requires careful temperature control to avoid material damage during forging.
Aluminium 3003 Forgings find their place in a variety of applications that demand strong formability, corrosion resistance, and cost-effectiveness. You’ll often see them in heat exchanger components, cooking utensils, marine fittings, chemical storage tanks, fuel tanks, architectural hardware, and lightweight industrial parts. Thanks to its excellent resistance to atmospheric conditions and mild chemicals, this alloy is perfect for HVAC systems, food processing equipment, transportation components, and welded structures. It’s also commonly used for brackets, flanges, covers, and custom-forged parts that require reliability and strength.
