Hemi Metals, based in Hamilton, New Zealand, is a trusted name in the manufacturing and supply of Aluminium 5052 Forgings. These forgings are prized for their remarkable corrosion resistance, impressive strength-to-weight ratio, and exceptional workability. Utilizing cutting-edge forging techniques and rigorous quality control, Hemi Metals guarantees that each 5052 forging delivers outstanding durability, a consistent grain structure, and precise dimensions. This alloy is a top choice for components that need to be lightweight yet tough, especially in marine and chemical environments. Industries across the board count on Hemi Metals for reliable Aluminium 5052 forgings designed to endure tough service conditions and long-lasting use.
Aluminium 5052 Forgings mainly consist of magnesium (2.2–2.8%), with minor amounts of chromium (0.15–0.35%), all built around aluminum as the primary element. This blend offers excellent corrosion resistance, particularly in marine and saltwater settings. On the mechanical side, 5052 boasts good tensile strength, high fatigue resistance, and impressive toughness, all while being easy to weld and form. The forging process boosts its strength, refines the grain, and enhances dimensional stability. Although this alloy can’t be heat-treated, it gains strength through work hardening, making it a great fit for moderately stressed structural components.

Aluminum 5052 offers excellent corrosion resistance, high strength, good weldability, and formability. It's lightweight, durable, resistant to stress cracking, and performs well in marine and industrial environments, making it ideal for custom forgings.
Aluminum 5052 is not ideal for high-temperature forging applications due to its relatively low melting point and poor high-temperature strength. Alloys like 7075 or 2011 are better suited for such applications.
Aluminum 5052 has excellent workability, making it suitable for forging. Its low-to-medium strength, good corrosion resistance, and formability allow for ease in shaping, reducing the risk of cracking during forging.
Aluminium 5052 Forgings find their place in a variety of applications that require lightweight strength, corrosion resistance, and strong formability. You’ll often see them in marine hardware, boat fittings, fuel tanks, pressure vessels, aircraft parts, hydraulic components, and automotive panels. Thanks to its excellent resistance to saltwater and chemicals, this alloy is perfect for coastal infrastructure, storage tanks, pump systems, and chemical processing equipment. It’s also utilized for brackets, flanges, frames, and custom-forged parts where durability and precision are essential.
