Hemi Metals, located in Hamilton, New Zealand, is a reliable manufacturer and supplier of high-quality Stainless Steel 416 Hollow Bars, perfect for precision machining and demanding industrial applications. SS 416 is a free-machining martensitic stainless steel designed for outstanding machinability, along with solid corrosion resistance and mechanical strength. With a focus on strict dimensional accuracy, uniform wall thickness, and controlled metallurgical quality, these hollow bars guarantee consistent performance and efficiency in production. Hemi Metals caters to various industries, including automotive, industrial machinery, oil & gas, and precision engineering, where accuracy, productivity, and durability are crucial.
Stainless Steel 416 is composed of about 12–14% chromium, with a carefully controlled carbon content and added sulfur to enhance machinability. While the sulfur boosts cutting performance, it does slightly compromise corrosion resistance compared to SS 410. Typically, SS 416 hollow bars achieve tensile strength between 500–700 MPa after heat treatment, offering good hardness and moderate ductility. This material is magnetic, responds well to hardening and tempering, and maintains excellent dimensional stability during machining, ensuring reliable mechanical performance.
